Sarah Clark

I am a proud graduate of East High School and SUNY Stony Brook. During college, I interned at City Hall for then Mayor Bill Johnson.  That opportunity allowed me to see how government impacts communities, sparked my dedication to public service, and I have been doing it ever since. I worked for the United States Senate for two decades; first for Senator Hillary Clinton; and then for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. In the Senate, we focused on issues that affect communities everyday like affordable healthcare, the high cost of prescription drugs, college affordability, a living wage for all, and protecting our seniors from fraud, while also working on our national priorities to reform the justice system, combat climate change and ensure clean air and water for all.  These are the values that I have carried forward to my work in the New York State Assembly.

Today I live in the Maplewood neighborhood in Rochester with my husband John and our three children, Jack, Sean, and Grace. The values instilled in me from my parents, my family, and my career taught me to work hard, listen often and never be afraid to speak up for what is right.
